Research Regarding Vitamin D3, K2 and Related Medical Issues

Using The Search Bar

The "Search Bar" is divided into three sections: 1 - The search argument section; 2 - The search submit button; 3 - The search site selection dropdown.

The current (hidden) search engine that is hard coded is the Bing.com/search site. This will eventually change to allow selection of different search engine.

The "site selection" dropdown allows the selection of several different sites on which to focus the search argument.

The search argument can be tailored to your specific needs. As an example your search argument will end up looking something like "site:nih.gov cancer vitamin c prostate." You can select another site and try your argument again and get different results.

I'm providing this tool, because it eliminates a lot of the SPOAFStating Personal Opinion As Fact websites that are popping up, and are filled with ads, and are just there to make money off the ads.

On some some sites you may have to reply to the simple CAPTCHA to continue. It's their way to prevent BOTSBOTS is short for roBOTSF7-1 from doing massive searches.

If you would like to format your own search argument for a different site here is an example you can use: (it will require you to respond to the CAPTCHA.)

2020 Aug 9; Immune-boosting role of vitamins D, C, E, zinc, selenium and omega-3 fatty acids: Could they help against COVID-19?
    • It has also been suggested that adequate vitamin D levels may help to protect the respiratory epithelium from pathogenic invasion, decreasing risk of infection.
    • While it is unclear whether vitamin D status affects infection rates, there is evidence to suggest a role in mitigating disease severity.
    • It has also been shown that countries with higher prevalence of vitamin D deficiency tend to have a higher burden of COVID-19 morbidity and mortality
    • On balance, given the negligible risk profile of supervised nutritional supplementation, weighed against the known and possible benefits, it appears pertinent to ensure adequate, if not elevated intake of these key vitamins and minerals in people both at risk of, and suffering from COVID-19.

    • Inflammageing is also a risk factor for chronic kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, cancer, depression, dementia, and sarcopenia, but whether modulating inflammation beneficially affects the clinical course of non-CVD health problems is controversial.

2020 Mar 18; Vitamin D increases testosterone production
    • The title of this article is very misleading.
    • For most men, a higher vitamin D intake will probably not strongly influence the concentration of testosterone.
    • Healthy men with low vitamin D and high parathyroid hormone concentrations, had a lower ratio of testosterone to LHLuteinizing hormone (LH) is a hormone that plays a key role in the reproductive systems of both men and women:
      • Women: LH levels increase sharply just before ovulation, a process that triggers the release of an egg from the ovary. LH also helps prepare the uterus for a fertilized egg.
      • Men: LH causes the testes to produce testosterone, which is necessary for sperm production.
in the blood suggesting that the effect of LH on testosterone production may be reduced when vitamin D is low.

2021 Jun 27 Vitamin K2 Holds Promise for Alzheimer’s Prevention and Treatment
    • As the most common type of dementia, AD affects an estimated 6.2 million Americans, a number that is projected to more than double by 2050 [1].
    • The two hallmarks of AD are the extracellular deposits of neurotoxic β-amyloid (Aβ) in the brain and the accumulation of tau protein tangles in the neurons.
    • Comparison of Vitamins K1 and K2 is discussed.
    • This study, unlike the others we have reviewed, examined individuals that had a mean age of only 60 and investigated the synergistic effects of vitamin K and vitamin D3.
    • The "greenish" notes are my thoughts, not part of the study.
      • Comment: In this study, Vitamin D3 is mentioned only once. Does this indicate there are not many, if any at all, studies that address the symbiotic relationship between VD3 and VK2.
      • Question: Does this allow opportunity for truely accurate studies that will search for off-the-shelf possibilities?
